WP Wiki Plugin 0.6

A new version of the WP Wiki Plugin is ready for download. This version comes with overhauled user management.

When a new “Wiki Editor” signs up on your site they can only edit pages and posts that have been marked as Wiki Friendly. This is a great improvement and takes us one step closer to the being the best Wiki option in the world.

The next milestone will be AJAX page and post editing.

This *sounds* like a great plugin but your documentation on using it leaves much to be desired. I have it installed and activated and created a test page, but I don’t see anything on your site other than a link to a MediaWiki tag page that tells me what the markup tags are that I can use to create Wiki posts.

Where do I begin learning what the Wiki markup tags are so I can actually create some pages for my friends and I to collaborate on?

    Thanks for your help.

  3. Hi, collapsible reviews history list and AJAX page and post editing would be so great for my project.
    Waiting the next upgrade!

Please explain how the TOC feature works. I currently have it turned Off, because it is empty. Is it created by entries? How does it know what keyword to use for the TOC? Can I rearrange the order of the TOC? Thanks for any details you might be willing to share with a relative newbie, at least in wiki-world.

Hi, that’s my problem too! I like the Wiki-Plugin a lot, but up to now I don’t know how to manage the TOC. Please, can you help us?

Cowsar: The TOC for each page is created from the h2 and h3 heading tags that you use in that page’s content.

Major section headings would use the h2 tag and be numbered as 1., 2., etc. Sub-section headings would use the h3 tag and be numbered as 1.1, 1.2, etc.

The only way you can rearrange the TOC is to rearrange the headings/content on the page.

I’m trying to get this lovely plugin to work, but Authors & Contributors can not edit the post even when I check mark the WordPress Wiki section?

    Hey guys,

Great plugin! I have some suggestions for the next version. I think you need to tweak the “Wiki Editor” role a bit. For example, how come, as an admin, I cannot get the same view as a “Wiki Editor” would get? What if I also want to see all the revisions and an easy to use “edit” link the way that “Wiki Editors” do? I feel that an admin actually has LESS flexibility than a “Wiki Editor” in this regard. Also, I think it would be cool if you guys supported the [external url here] for the wiki. Otherwise I still have to use the HREF html element for external links but at the same time can use the [[name here]] element for internal links. It’s confusing that only half the functionality is there.

: Maybe a stupid answer and something you already know. My TOC worked bij going to HTML in my message and add big header or smaller header. After updating your post, it will be with a TOC. Oh and i saw there is an extra section in wysiwyg. :P

Thanks for this nice plugin, anyway

Is there a demo of the plug-in? Or a link to someone who is using it?
Would like to see how some of the functions mentioned work before I integrate into my site.

For some reason, whenever an Editor or Wiki Editor on my site attempts to edit a Wiki-tagged page, they’re met with the error “You are not allowed to edit this page.” Unfortunately, this means that the only role allowed to edit Wiki pages is the Administrator. Are there any fixes for this?

  13. FYI, I deactivted and uninstalled the Wiki Plugin, but the “Wiki Editor” role remained. I definitely don’t want it there, I’m currently figuring out which file to edit to delete it from; will post here when I know.
